The Absolute BEST of Afterbirth Books

While I admit I love every book released by Afterbirth, there are a few that I love just a little more than the others. Now, I’m not going to go into long, boring reasons WHY I, personally, love them, and I’m not going to write a synopsis of each one-there are links for those-but I will say that these books deserve more attention than they are currently receiving. They are all outstanding and the authors  are much, much better-and much smarter- writers than I am.  Take that any way you wish, but I can tell you its the absolute truth.

So, first up is Better Ways of Being Dead by Christian TeBordo and you can check it out here: http://tiny.cc/b4uil

Next is Cocoon of Terror by Jason Earls: http://tiny.cc/iHwcB

And lastly, Super Cell Anemia by duncan b. barlow: http://tiny.cc/FWKba

I’m often asked what and who inspires me and these novels rank near the top of that list. In short, I want to write like these guys when I grow up. IF I ever do…

So, if you can, seek these ones out. There’s a lot of bang for your buck in each of them and if you’re brave enough to take the plunge, I hope they do for you what they do for me: as a writer, they make me want to be better and as a reader they make the trip well worth taking.

Don’t worry. You can thank me later.

Screams From a Dying World is short Story collection by a local Portland author David Agranoff. It’s 13 tales of horror and Science fiction all with ecological and animal rights themes.* Swarm of Flying Eyeballs is a novel by Seattle based Wonderland Award winning author of 13 thorns Gina Ranalli. Gina’s fiction is sometimes horror, absurdist, visionary and and always bizarro! Readings, Q and A,  greasy vegan food!

Fun! Come by and throw things at us! (vegan things, please!)

SWARM OF FLYING EYEBALLS has arrived at the Ranalli hacienda and it looks great! Don’t delay in picking up a copy because once they’re gone, they are gone for good.

Abstract Moods

Ok, sometimes I mess around with paints and chalks and such. Mostly when the word muse is being a bitch. Sometimes I even sell what I paint but mostly I know I won’t be quiting my day job any time soon. But nevertheless, I thought I’d share a painting with whoever stumbles across this site and cares to give it a gander. I might do this every so often. Not sure. Anyway, hope you enjoy my visual art, even if it’s just a little.

By me and MANY others can be found at one of my all time favorite journals, Bust Down the Door and Eat All the Chickens.

Get your read on here:

And if you like what you read, please drop the authors a note or something to let them know. Hearing from readers can make a writer’s day, believe me!

Enjoy!

Love, Anne

Everyone has inside of him a piece of good news. The good news is that you don’t know how great you can be! How much you can love! What you can accomplish! And what your potential is! – ANNE FRANK

The animals of this world exist for their own reasons.
They were not made for humans any more than black people were made for white, or women created for men. -Alice Walker
