Well guys, hopefully you didn’t believe my previous post. It turns out it was all lies, which was surprising even to me. Instead of plugging along as I’d intended, I pretty much took the summer off and got very little done, writing-wise. It’s all good though, as I believe things happen when they’re meant to happen. The good news is that my little sabbatical is over and I should be releasing Machine Smile soon. I hope. Not sure if I should trust that and you shouldn’t be either, as I’ve been proven to fib about such things. But still, I’m keeping the faith. More projects will follow. Hopefully. But anyway, the point is I’m alive and well and still trucking. Good things are happening. I promise…with fingers crossed behind my back.

What’s up, my lovelies? Long time no blog, eh? I bet you thought this page was dead forever. So did I! But it has been resurrected. Why? because I have a LOT of new stuff coming up in the soonish future. I’ve been busy writing, working on novels and novellas, the first of which you should see pretty soon. In the next couple weeks soon. If not sooner. Soooooon. 🙂

Also of note, I’ve made a good portion of my Amazon bookshelf 99 cents. Because I love you guys, of course. And because I can. ANNNND because of the new stuff coming out. (Did I mention SOON?) I want to make my back catalog as accessible as possible.

Anyway, that’s about it for now. I have to get back into the groove of doing this. But I promise there will be frequent updates here so check back or subscribe or follow or whatever it is you kids do these days. 😉

just a quick note to mention that I haven’t abandoned this site, but it has been screwed up for quite a while now. I tried to update it at least once a month but obviously that hasn’t worked out lately. not sure what is going on with this thing but I’m trying to figure it out and get it resolved. the widget links just stopped working for some reason. if you have any clues or ideas, I’d definitely appreciate hearing from you.

otherwise, I am well and working on several projects, all of which I’m excited about and can’t wait to finish and share with you guys. I hope everyone is having a great fall season so far. or spring, depending on where in the world you are. hopefully I’ll be back soon with updates and all that cool jazz. I like saying “cool jazz.” I think I’m gonna make it my new thing. 🙂

Hiddy Ho, everyone! how’s your day/week/month going? I, myself, am beat. been having some rough insomnia lately and I’m pretty close to delirious right now. but, it’s all good. it will pass, like everything does eventually.

if you haven’t been keeping up with me on the social media sites, you might have missed that I released a new short for Kindle this month called SKIN FLOWERS. it’s a creepy, little tale that disturbs even me. maybe you’ll like it, if you’re into that sort of thing. it’s cheap too-just 99 cents. priced to move, I hope. it was available very briefly many years ago from a now defunct publisher but I think only about 3 people read it then. hopefully it will fair better now. feel free to tell your friends about it too, if they like icky stories about vile people.

also, I thought today I would share a silly piece of fiction I wrote a longish time ago. just a little piece of weird flash. I sometimes write flash fiction before I work on my “serious” (ha!) fiction for the day. I use it as kind of a warm-up, to shake the cobwebs off. they are seldom any good and this one is no different. a smarter writer than I probably wouldn’t allow it to see the light of day, but what the hell. like I said, I’m a tad delirious right now.

so, without further ado, here is the very short, very ridiculous:

SMASHED GUITAR MEDLEY

I’m going to drop this electric guitar off the top of the Space Needle.

Then I’ll wrap the strings around my teeth, giving myself a shiny steel smile.

Then I’ll punch the tuning pegs into my eyebrows, three through each.

Then I’ll weave splinters of wood into my hair and pierce my scalp with them until blood drips off my nose.

Then I’ll swallow the electronics and cord, plug myself into an amp and scream “Half woman/half guitar!” at passersby until I become the most famous attraction in Seattle.

I’ll be on postcards and you’ll be able to say you knew me when.

hello friends! how the hell is everyone doing on this fine autumn day, if you are indeed in a part of the world where it is autumn and day. but wherever and whenever you are, I hope you’re happy and doing whatever it is you love doing. 

I’m here to post links to a few recent happenings. I hope you enjoy them.

first up, I was recently a guest on the wackiest of all wacky blog talk radio (is it still called blog talk radio? I’m not sure) shows, The Funky Werepig, hosted by the ever-amusing and wonderful Greg Hall. in case you missed it, you can check it out via iTunes right HERE. lots of fun was had, especially the part where we did a duet of the Sonny and Cher classic, The Beat Goes On. we rocked the hell out of it.

next, I wanted to make readers aware of the new issue of Surreal Grotesque, which in addition to including a couple quick reviews of two of my books (THANK YOU, David William Gonzales!), is also just fascinating and gorgeous and if you like stuff that’s, well, surreal and grotesque I highly recommend checking it out.  

And lastly, I thought I’d share this review of my latest release Mothman Emerged which was posted yesterday over at Antibacterial Pope. huge thanks to the ever-amazing Nick Cato for that one.
