Unearthed Review

The first review of my forthcoming Delirium novella, Unearthed has just hit the ethereal super-highway and it’s a good one. The reviewer compared it to King’s The Mist (among others), which is pretty dang sweet. Check out the review HERE. Many thanks to Crow’s Caw and Nick Cato for the kind words and support and don’t forget to grab a copy asap from Horror Mall. I don’t know how many copies they have left, but I know they’re dwindling and I’m not sure when this story will be reprinted. Plus, it’s an amazing little mini-hardcover, signed by me and definitely collectible.

Hope you all are having a stupendous weekend and happy mother’s day to all the moms out there. 🙂

stranger than fiction

Interestingly, I had a few friends point this bizarre story out to me. The story of a woman in love with a wall. A real woman. A real wall.

Weird, right? When I wrote my novella Wall of Kiss, I had no idea that there are some people who actually fall in love with inanimate objects. I just thought it would be funny, so I wrote it.

Now, after watching that video, I still think it’s pretty funny. But I’m not so sure it’s legit. Anything is possible, I suppose, but I do think a lot of people will do pretty much anything to get on TV.

I’d never even heard of the show Taboo, nor did I ever visit the National Geographic website, despite having a subscription to their magazine for many years. I don’t know why it never occurred to me to look them up, but I digress…

I should track down that woman and send her a copy of the book, don’t you think? Someone should warn her that sooner or later, that bastard is gonna break her heart.

Chemical Gardens Redux for KINDLE

Howdy, howdy, howdy! How’s everyone doing this evening? Well, it’s evening for me anyway and I’m kinda pooped. Been a busy day, working on all new projects, but that is not what I’m here to talk about right now.

Hell no.

I’m here to let everyone know that you can now buy my “first” novel, the crazy Chemical Gardens, for $2.99 on Kindle. It has all-new spectacular cover art by the ever-amazing artist Gary McClusky, who also did the cover art for Praise the Dead. He’s not only a great artist, but a great guy as well. Super-easy to work with. If you have any art needs, I HIGHLY recommend getting in contact with him. He’s awesome.

Also, the trade paperback might not be out for a while yet, so I want to now share with you the entire, unlettered piece. It’s crazy cool and will give you an idea of just how insane the book is. It’s probably my weirdest, funniest story and I don’t know when I’ll get a chance to just go nuts again with a book, so I hope you check it out and tell all your friends. This is the book that wears the happy pants. 🙂

Thanks all! ❤

Sunshine Drips

I was recently going through some old notebooks-I probably have somewhere around 50 of them, dating all the way back to high school-and came across a novella I wrote when I was 15 or 16, titled Sunshine Drips. I’d completely forgotten about it and I haven’t read the whole thing yet, but what I did read was…interesting. I clearly had a taste for the weird even back then.

So, now I’m wondering if I should do anything with it. Would anyone even want to read? It is most likely pretty terrible and what I’ve already read doesn’t seem to make a whole lot of sense, but there are probably some interesting things about it. I kind of remember the story. It’s basically about a world where all water somehow turns to gasoline and everything is on fire but meanwhile this teenage girl is more concerned with losing her virginity. Pretty bizarre to say the least.

I’m personally always interested in an author’s early writings. It’s cool to get a glimpse at their beginnings and see how good or bad they were when they first started writing and if the work is even recognizable as their own. I like to see how far people have come.

Anyway, I’m curious if I should do anything with this, once I’m done reading it and if I decide it’s not too atrocious to share. This might end up being a completely pointless post, but I wanted to get some feedback. What do you guys think? Feel free to get at me here or on facebook or twitter. If enough people say they’d be interested in checking it out, I’ll most likely make it available somehow (with a disclaimer that says something like “holy shit! this is soooo dumb.”)

ok, enough rambling. Have an awesome week, folks. 🙂

lowered prices

hey all! what’s new?

here’s what’s new in G-Land: I’ve never been happy with the high prices of small press books but couldn’t do much about it. they cost more to print, so of course the price has to be higher than, say, a mass market paperback. but I never liked it. still don’t. not as a writer and not as a reader. understand it, yes. like it, no. but I also know they don’t have to be quite as high as they sometimes are. long story short-I had the prices lowered on a few of my books. namely, Suicide Girls, Wall of Kiss and Mother Puncher. the prices aren’t a lot lower but they’re lower nonetheless. you can find all three of them over there in the sidebar.

I’ve always wanted to be as fair as possible with my readers. I hope this helps a little in achieving that goal.

Happy reading and happy weekend!

HERE. At ZombieBloodFights.

Mondo huge thanks to Bowie V. Ibarra for not making me cry like that Walters woman probably would have. Also, seek Bowie out. He’s a fantastic writer and you should be reading him NOW.

More later. Have a great week, everyone! ❤

sometimes you gotta

I’ve decided to take a break this weekend. Instead of working on the stuff I’m supposed to be working on, I’m going to write something just for me, just for fun. I haven’t done that for ages and, honestly, it’s starting to get to me. Yes, of course, I know I’m way beyond blessed to have publishers and editors wanting various things from me, but always doing work for someone else takes it’s toll after a while. It stops being fun. There is too much worry and pressure to have your work fit someone else’s idea of what the project should look like.

Mind you, this isn’t a bitching rant. I love what I do and I love the folks I work with. But I’ve found that you need to stop working and start playing every so often. Then you can come back fresh and rejuvenated. So, that’s what I’m doing. Maybe what I come up with will see the light of day some day, but if not, I’m cool with that. This one is for me.

I suggest you guys do some playing yourselves. It’s a new month. Start it right, if you can. And, if you see me around on the internet, swear at me unmercifully because it probably means I’m working in some capacity. Probably promoting or networking.

So, GO! Don’t be a dull boy (or girl.)

my Kindle store

Can be found right HERE. It includes some of the anthologies I’ve been lucky enough to appear in, as well as the books, so far. Just thought I’d share it in case there’s anyone out there who wanted a quick, check-list type thing. The books are all inexpensive and, truth be told, my Kindle sales have been kicking the booty off the hard-copy sales. I think this is a good thing, being the hippie, tree-hugger that I am.

Please help me spread the word by telling your friends, neighbors, family, strangers, and, if you don’t like my stuff, your enemies. Just tell them that my work is awesome, then cackle maniacally when they go off to check it out. This will make you a diabolical mastermind and you will be one step closer to world domination. Glad to be of service. You can thank me later.

Anyway, thank YOU and, whatever you do, DO NOT listen to that new song “Friday.”  Seriously. Don’t.

Hey all! Good news for all you Kindle fans. Mother Puncher in finally available for a mere 99 cents. Pennies a page! So definitely grab a copy and please keep in mind that tags and honest reviews are always, ALWAYS appreciated.

Soon, there will be more Kindle goodies up for grabs and I’m pretty excited to share that stuff with you too. It’s just a matter of time.

Anyway, thanks in advance to anyone who checks out the wacky story of a dude who’s job it is to discourage people from producing little bundles of joy. I hope you think it’s funny and weird and unlike anything else you’ve read.

Until next time-
g.
