“To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.”
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

Just came across this old thingamabob: The New Absurdist Web Death 2007. Old stories by myself, Kevin Donihe, Bradley Sands and a bunch of other cool-ass writers. Lots of blast-from-the-past fun in there. Perfect if you’re in the mood for a little bite of weird. Weird is tasty, after all. 🙂
Really quick news:
The Authors Speak in a new blog started by Eric Mays. He interviews both new and established authors, with some great ones already up and more on the way. Definitely check it out if you have any interest in getting into the heads of your favorite writers. Good stuff!
One of my publishers recently announced some really exciting news:
“Coscom Entertainment is pleased to announce that Simon and Schuster’s Gallery Books imprint (formerly Pocket Books) has acquired the rights to reprint two of its mashup novels, The War of the Worlds Plus Blood, Guts and Zombies by H.G. Wells and Eric S. Brown, as well as Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and Zombie Jim by Mark Twain and W. Bill Czolgosz.
We’re thrilled as a company to be a part of this deal as well as having the wonderful opportunity to co-brand these titles with Gallery Books.
“This is just awesome and so far everything has been great between myself, Gallery and my agent behind-the-scenes. It’s exciting because this isn’t just about reprinting a couple of books with them. This is an opportunity to now let Coscom Entertainment have a foot in the mass market scene, and I’m eager to see where the success of these upcoming books takes my writers and the company as a whole,” says Coscom Entertainment Publisher A.P. Fuchs.
Here’s to the future, and a special congrats to the authors involved. Likewise, a public thank you to Coscom’s agent, Evan Gregory of the Ethan Ellenberg Literary Agency of New York, for arranging the deal.
(As a side note, the current editions of these books will be going out of print in the next few months so if you’re a collector, now would be a good time to snag one of the original Coscom Entertainment editions while they’re still available. Thanks.)”
Very happy for all involved! Congrats, guys!
Brand new ebook version of Suicide Girls in the Afterlife is available to order now. There will probably be other ebooks coming soon too. This is an avenue I’ve wanted to explore for a while now, so I’m pretty happy. You can also read a free sample before you buy, which is super-cool!
Please pass this info along and Happy reading!
I came across this old story I wrote called Glow in the Dark on the web a few minutes ago and thought I’d link it up here so you guys can get a laugh or two. Maybe some of you will even dig it. It’s not horror and it’s not bizarro. It’s a lesbian love story. So, if that kind of thing offends you, you probably shouldn’t read it. (Actually, you probably shouldn’t be reading my stuff at all, if you’re that easily offended.)
So, like I said, it’s old and not particularly polished, but if you’re at all interested in my growth as a writer, you might want to check it out. Feel free to let me know what you think.
Thanks and enjoy!
HERE. Thanks so much to fellow vegan author David Agranoff. If you haven’t read his book Screams from a Dying World, you should get on that asap. It’s brilliant.
“If I lose the light of the sun, I will write by candlelight, moonlight, no light. If I lose paper and ink, I will write in blood on forgotten walls. I will write always. I will capture nights all over the world and bring them to you.” – Henry Rollins
Here’s a story I wrote a long-ass time ago, called Heavy Flow. And yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like.
Hope you enjoy it!

Screams From a Dying World is short Story collection by a local Portland author David Agranoff. It’s 13 tales of horror and Science fiction all with ecological and animal rights themes.* Swarm of Flying Eyeballs is a novel by Seattle based Wonderland Award winning author of 13 thorns Gina Ranalli. Gina’s fiction is sometimes horror, absurdist, visionary and and always bizarro! Readings, Q and A, greasy vegan food!
Fun! Come by and throw things at us! (vegan things, please!)
